  • Duo Mobile passcodes may work better than push notifications with some iOS devices (Tuesday, April 24, 2018)

    Some iPhone and iPad users may not be able to log into the Blackboard mobile app (eCampus) using push notifications from the Duo Mobile app. If you have this problem, use the passcode option. Just open the app and tap the key icon to generate a one-time numeric code to complete your login. Detailed instructions are online.

  • Two-Factor Authentication (Monday, March 5, 2018)

    PROVE IT's YOU: 

    FACULTY: You’ll soon be required to use two-factor authentication to prove your identity when logging into secure systems. Download the free Duo Mobile smart phone app from your app store, then activate your account by visiting, clicking “My Login” and following the steps. If you don’t have a smart phone, contact your supervisor or ITS about hardware alternatives.

    STUDENTS: Some instructors don’t allow phones in class. Before enrolling, make sure they know what you’re doing _ and wait until the last day of classes if necessary.

  • Faculty Only: Mark your calendars for upcoming eCampus maintenance outages (Tuesday, April 9, 2019)

    Instructors, please be aware of some upcoming maintenance: 

    • The third-party eCampus tool WileyPLUS will be unavailable 6-7 a.m. Friday, April 12 while the vendor performs maintenance. ITS has no control over the timing of this outage. This work won’t affect eCampus itself or other building blocks in the system.
    • eCampus will be unavailable from 12:01 a.m. until midnight on Thursday, May 9 for the normal end-of-semester upgrade. We’ll have more details on the changes you can expect soon. If our work is completed ahead of schedule, we will release the system for use. You can check your email, @WVUITServices on Twitter or WVU Information Technology on Facebook for the fastest updates.
    • Our winter eCampus upgrade is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020.

  • Faculty Only: eCampus Update (Thursday, April 4, 2019)

    Hope your semester is going well! A few eCampus updates.

    1. Summer 2019 courses will be available on Monday, April 8, 2019.
    2. Collaborate Ultra Demo: Please attend and encourage your faculty to attend. They can start using it from summer 2019 semester.
      • Tuesday, April 16, 1 – 3 p.m., AER 120
      • Tuesday, April 23, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Monongahela Room, Mountainlair
    3. eCampus upgrade is scheduled on Thursday, May 9, 2019 and hence the system will not be available to users from 12 AM to 11:59 PM.  If the upgrade is complete ahead of the schedule, the system will be released to the users. Please also mark your calendar for the winter upgrade which is scheduled to be on Thursday, January 2, 2020.
    4. Next meeting is on Tuesday, September 3rd through Collaborate Ultra.
  • Instructors invited to attend demonstration of Collaborate Ultra (Friday, March 22, 2019)

    Welcome back from spring break! Collaborate Ultra, a new and improved version of the interactive video conferencing tool in eCampus, will be demonstrated on campus throughout March and April.

    Attend one of these sessions to see it in action:

    • Wednesday, March 20 from 10 a.m. to noon in Room 20 of the Advanced Engineering Research Building
    • Monday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Monongahela Room at the Mountainlair
    • Tuesday, April 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. in Room 20 of the Advanced Engineering Research Building
    • Tuesday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Monongahela Room at the Mountainlair

    The upgraded tool eliminates the need to install software and has better desktop sharing performance. Collaborate Ultra also has the ability to load PDFs, eliminating the need to convert them to PowerPoints. Collaborate Ultra works best with Chrome and Firefox browsers. Information Technology Services recommends against using the tool in Internet Explorer.
